Description:
Villa Maravilla Location Soliman Bay is located south of Cancun and Playa del Carmen. The 1.5 hour drive from the Cancun airport delivers you to this pristine bay. Playa del Carmen is a 30 minute drive to the north and Tulum is a 15 minute drive south.
Soliman Bay is approximately 2 km (1.2 miles) long with calm waves and white sand beaches. The source of the calm water is the coral reef offshore, which forces the waves to break there instead of on shore. It is part of the Meso American Reef System, the second longest reef system in the world.
Privacy and security are inherent in Soliman Bay. The guarded gate screens visitors. Those on the list are allowed to access the sand beach road to the homes. The few privileged villas are on the left and the virgin jungle and wetlands are on the right. A cul-de-sac is at the end of the beach road. There is no through access. Traffic noise is non-existent. Security is maxed.
Dense tropical jungle flora and fauna provide a natural screen of privacy complimented by the personal landscaping tastes of each villa's owner. The homes are not cookie cutter. They have a personality, often reflective of the owner.
If luxury and privacy is your desire, you'll find the Soliman Bay Beachfront provides both.
Villa Maravilla is a tranquil 4-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom beachfront villa nestled within tropical gardens. The manicured landscaping accentuates the natural beauty of Soliman Bay.
The property design draws inspiration from contemporary, tropical and hacienda styles. Combined with elements of traditional Talavera and Saltillo tiles, Maya and modern art, the result creates a property that is a mix of old world charm and modern luxury.
Living Areas
The 25 ft. high foyer opens to the grand and spacious living, dining, and kitchen areas. Each are framed in glass, bathing the house in natural light. Taking inspiration from tropical casual living, the seating area in the living room is styled with comfortable sofas and antique wooden armchairs. It's an ideal place to gather with family and friends. In the dining area a handmade wooden table seats eight people comfortably while lit by a wonderful wrought iron chandelier.
The large and fully equipped kitchen is set with stained concrete countertops, Talavera tiles and modern stainless-steel appliances. A breakfast table allows up to four people to sit while taking in the view overlooking the pool out to the Caribbean Sea. The grand entrance to the villa is via a lush, tranquil courtyard. Once inside, the interiors incorporate Mexican furnishings including oversized iron and glass chandeliers, sculptural art and handmade furniture. The meticulous design ensures a light and airy property that flows easily and works harmoniously with the spectacular nature on its doorstep.
Garden and Swimming Pool
Huge 16-foot high sliding glass doors lead to the garden and the lagoon style pool, which is surrounded by a patio with comfortable chairs, sofas, a gas barbeque and fire pit. The garden design continues to the beach. There you will find one of your favorite destinations - a large beachfront palapa with hammocks and loungers.
Bedrooms
The four bedrooms are strategically located on both floors. All feature handcrafted armoires and bedside tables from San Miguel de Allende. The downstairs bedroom offers a calm retreat from the rest of the house. It has direct access to the tropical gardens via its French doors, which lead out to a private terrace. Vaulted ceilings add to the airy feel of this room with its king-sized bed and carved colonial style headboard.
The spacious master suite has French doors which lead on to a private terrace. The king-sized bed has a headboard made of antique doors and the bathroom is full of natural light from the skylight above and picture window which looks out and over the upstairs garden. The bedroom leads to a second-floor study with a floor to ceiling bookshelf and an antique writing desk.
Two spectacular ensuite queen rooms offer panoramic views of the bay and beach. Each bedroom opens to an enormous private ocean front balcony which runs the width of the villa. Loungers and ceiling fans invite guests to relax and enjoy the stunning views.
Roof Terrace
The rooftop open-air seating area is shaded with a tropical canopy and offers a 360-degree view with the Caribbean on one side and jungle mangroves on the other. You can relax on the couches, lie in a Mayan hammock, gaze up at the stars, or catch the magical sunset over Soliman Bay.
Caretaker Casita
The two story concrete casita has a bodega on the lover level with comfortable full living quarters for the married couple caretakers above. They have been with the home since the beginning. They know the Villa and the compound and how to properly take care of it.
